For the Global Talent visa in the UK under the arts route, meeting two out of three criteria is enough. A public profile is required, but in a smaller volume than for similar visas in other countries. The first criterion is native publications in specialist media, the second is awards or competition participation, the third is proof of appearance.
Who the visa suits
The Global Talent visa is open to people who create art with their own hands and whose work involves a creative element. The list of professions is broad: writers, artists, musicians, photographers, dancers, theatre and film actors, fashion designers, jewellers, sculptors, classical musicians, costume designers and others.
Two criteria out of three
The requirement in the UK is less strict than in the US, where you need to meet a maximum of eleven criteria. Here, two out of three are enough. The first criterion is media publications about your work with critical context. The article must be native, not sponsored, in an outlet that covers your field of art. The second is an award related to your creative work; it can even be regional. Competition participation is easier to find than in IT, where such awards are more actively pursued. The third is proof of appearance: any activity in the field of art not covered by the first two points.
What counts as proof of activity
For a musician, this can be Spotify streams, concert posters and concert income. For visual artists, illustrators and photographers — sales of works to private collections or museums with the amount stated, participation in solo and group exhibitions, mentions in catalogues. For architects — mentions in architecture magazines and books, the volume of built projects and their cost. Conference talks and participation in television projects also work, as do mentions in sources, even old ones.
What a native publication looks like
An article should not be devoted to just one person: a publication about a single little-known author looks unnative. Usually the material is written as an overview of several specialists with analysis of their creative decisions, and the applicant is just one of the subjects. It’s important that the outlet doesn’t openly sell articles: such publications often don’t qualify for Global Talent. For effectiveness, one or two such articles are usually needed.

Recommendation letter
In addition to the criteria, a recommendation letter from a British organisation is needed. If no such organisation is available, it can be obtained through intermediaries who handle this.
